Next weekend (01 and 02/6), at Largo de São Sebastiãoin the Center, south zone of Manaus, it will happen the 24th Manaus Dance Festival (Modama). The event will have the participation of about 2 thousand dancers and more than one hundred dance groups from schools and academies, with presentations starting at 4 pm, with free access.
On Saturday (01/06), the presentations will be tap, ballroom dance, jazz, classical, modern and contemporary. The children's group will perform from 4pm to 6pm; the youth from 6pm to 8pm; adults and seniors from 8pm to 10pm. The Cristina Rocha dance school, from Boa Vista (RR), will be one of the guests.
The second guest will be Balé Folclórico do Amazonaswhich will open the event on Sunday (02/06). On this day the modalities Street Dance and À Caráter e Etnia will be presented, following the same schedule as the previous day.
The Manaus dance show pays tribute to the great icons of dance in Amazonas: Conceição Sousa, Mônica Loureiro and Edna Marta.
According to the teacher and dancer Ana Mendes, the event's organizer, this year Modama comes with new participating groups. The expectations are the best possible. We have a very large number of participants in this edition, among children and teenagers, adults and seniors", she said.
