A musical lecture, which will present a diverse study on the world culture of reggae. This is how the second edition of "On the beat of reggaethat will take place on March 19, from 20h on, at the Amazonas Theater.
At the event, Lucas Kastrupfounder of the band Ponto de Equilíbrio, will tell the historical context of Jamaican music, while practicing drums, drums, and percussion. Next, he will present traditional Nyahbinghi (Rastafari music) chants and some hits from the band that made him famous.
"The event will be divided into two parts. The musical lecture opens the program with Lucas narrating all the historical context of the rhythm, from the Nyahbinghi touch, which represents the sound of the heart, and the evolution to the reggae beat we know today," says Carol Chaves, producer of the event. "Then there's the show with reggae's greatest hits.
Participations
In the second part of the event, Lucas will share the stage with local artists: Vívian Gramophone and Natty dos Anjos (vocals), Cileno (guitar and vocals), Leonardo Pimentel (percussion), Marcos Cileno (bass), and Diogo Navia (flute).
In the show's repertoire, hits from the band Ponto de Equilíbrio and also from Lucas' solo career, among them, "Novo dia" (New day), "Ventre Materno" (Mother's womb), "Quem não tem amor" (Who doesn't have love), "Todos os dias" (Every day), and "Aonde vai chegar" (Where are you going to arrive?).
The artist
Idealizer of "Na batida do reggae", Lucas Kastrup is one of the founders of the band Ponto de Equilíbrio, a current reggae reference. Besides being a drummer, he is the author of several compositions, including "Novo dia", "Árvore do reggae", "Velho amigo", and "Fio da fé". Anthropologist, doctorate from the Graduate Program in Social Sciences at UERJ, he develops research on music. Since 1999, he has been on a constant national and international tour, with passages through Africa, Europe, and South America.
Those who buy tickets of the first lot get a personalized glass of the event. The indicative rating of the event is free, but children under 14 must be accompanied by parents or legal guardians.
