The maestro Guilherme Mannis and clarinetist Daniel Oliveira are the guests of the concert that the Amazonas Theater next Thursday (10/17), at 8pm, as part of the programming of the "Guaraná XVI Seriesheld by the State Secretary of Culture (SEC), sponsored by Guaraná Antarctica. The event has free admission.
Mannis, who is the titular conductor of the Sergipe Symphony Orchestra, will conduct the Amazonas Philharmonic Orchestra, an experience he has already had in other occasions.
"The Amazonas Philharmonic is an exceptional orchestra, which I have been able to prove on several other occasions when I have conducted it at the Teatro Amazonas. The orchestras of the states have a primordial role in their societies, and the brilliant work done by the conductors and musicians of these groups continuously bring a new artistic panorama to the people," he observed.
The conductor also highlights that two pieces of the Russian repertoire and a piece by Magnus Lindberg will be presented.
"The audience can expect an absolutely vibrant concert, with two incredible pieces from the Russian repertoire: the Festive Overture, by Dmitri Shostakovich, and the last piece composed by Rachmaninoff: his Symphonic Dances. We will also play a very challenging concerto for clarinet and orchestra by Lindberg, brilliantly performed by Daniel Oliveira," he said.
