In order to raise awareness in the public sphere and among the population, a group of artists from Amazonas has mobilized to hold a public act in defense of life and the forest, where music, poetry, dance and visual arts will be the main instruments of awareness. O SOS Amazonia: Artists Sing in Defense of the Forestwill take place next Wednesday (28th), at 5pm, with a symbolic hug at the Monument to the Opening of the Portsat the Largo de São Sebastiãoand a musical show at the Curupira Mãe do Mato Curupira Mãe do Mato Cultural Spacelocated at Sete de Setembro Avenue, starting at 10 pm.
"The whole society is invited to participate in this historic moment. We are an independent and totally non-partisan artistic movement. The 'SOS Amazonia: Artists Sing in Defense of the Forest' is a peaceful act for sustainability. We ask everyone to wear green or white shirts, symbolizing the fight for the defense and protection of the environment," says singer and composer Antônio Bahia, one of the creators of the event.
They engaged in the noble cause more than 40 regional artists, the most varied musical styles, as the toada, MPB, samba, pagoda, reggae, hip-hop, forró, sertanejo and others who will be present both in the Largo de São Sebastião, as in Curupira Mãe do Mato.
Big names are confirmed for the event, among them Márcia Siqueira, Arlley Souza, Kadu Almeida, Jander Manauara, Mailzon Mendes, Márcia Novo, Nelly Miranda, Rosa Malagueta, Rui Machado, Milton Cabocrioulo, P.A. Chaves, Sisi Rolim, Guilherme Cordel, Cileno, Cláudia Trindade, Wilsinho de Cima, Klinger Araújo, and Carol Pedrosa, among dozens of other artists.
