The Amazonas Chamber Orchestra (OCA) plays another concert in the 16th edition of the Guaraná Series this Sunday (9/22), at 7pm, at the Palácio da Justiça Cultural Center. The event takes place in partnership with the International Chamber Music Festival.

Admission to the concert is a donation of a toy for the campaign "Donate a toy and win smiles", or a kilo of food, which will be given to the Raio de Sol Group.

The program includes the works "Violin Concerto in A minor", by German Johann Sebastian Bach; "Concerto for Two Cellos", by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi; and passages from "Souvenir de Florença", by Russian Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

The conductor will be Marcelo de Jesus. In addition to OCA, the concert will feature musicians Anna Samokish, Eliziel Lourenço dos Santos, Átila de Paula, and Alexandre Kozlov Leitzke.

"The Bach violin concerto will feature young Alexandre, who is still a musician in training and represents one of the sides of the series, which is to dialogue with the young musician and put him in contact with a professional orchestra. He will play one of the movements of this beautiful piece by Bach," says the conductor.

The "Concerto for Two Cellos" gives the tone of unprecedentedness to the program, according to the conductor. The unusual, according to him, is a piece where the protagonism is of two bass instruments. "Anna and Eliziel, on the cellos, and also Attila de Paula, on the harpsichord, participate in it. It is a very beautiful piece and a composition for two cellos is very unusual. I would say that this piece would already be worth next Sunday's concert," comments Marcelo de Jesus.

Finally, excerpts from Tchaikovsky's work will be performed. Also according to the conductor, "Souvenir de Florença" has all the characteristics of Russian romanticism. "This is another beautiful work that is a great exponent of Russian romanticism. With it, we close a diverse program, passing through different moments of music.

Guaraná Series

The concert season of the Guaraná Series continues until December 13. In addition to the Amazonas Theater, there will be presentations at the Palácio Rio Negro Cultural Center, at the Matriz and São Sebastião churches, and at João Lúcio Hospital.

Also in September, at 8 PM on the 26th, at Teatro Amazonas, the Amazonas Philharmonic - conducted by Otávio Simões, with Elina Sarkisian at the piano - will perform Sergei Rachmaninov's "Piano Concerto No. 3 in D minor, op. 30", and Ferruccio Busoni's "Suite Turandot, op. 41".
