Agile Manaus tourism and culture of the AmazonWith the theme "Popular Knowledge - An Ancestral Revolution", Boi-bumbá Caprichoso won the dispute of the 53rd Parintins Folkloric Festival with 3.7 points difference over its rival, Boi-bumbá Garantido, and won the bicampeonato. In total, Caprichoso added 1,259.10 points against 1,255.4 for Garantido. With the consolidated victory this year the Caprichoso accumulates its 24th title in the festival.
The verification of the jury notes, on the three nights of presentations, happened in the early afternoon this Monday (2) in the traditional dispute arena of bumbás, Amazonino Mendes Cultural Center, better known as Bumbódromo de Parintins, which in 2018 completed 30 years of foundation since it was inaugurated on June 28, 1988.
The Boi-bumbá Garantido was penalized with the loss of one point in the evaluation of the second night due to the irregular use of fireworks in the arena of the Bumbódromo, which led to a fire outbreak in one of the speakers during their presentation. The incident was corrected thanks to the help of the firemen present at the event.
