Its symbol is the "heart", which is located on the bull's forehead. Its colors are red and white. It is also known as "O Boi do Povão", "Boi da Paixão", and "Boi da Promessa".

Boi-Bumbá Garantido is one of the two Folkloric Associations that compete in Brazil's folkloric festival: the Parintins Folkloric Festival, in Amazonas. Created by the fisherman Lindolfo Monteverde, still in the beginning of the last century, the Boi Garantido was a child's game that evolved with time. Its creator was a descendant of slaves, a humble fisherman born in the 'Baixa de São José', a poor neighborhood, a village of black and mixed-race fishermen from the remote Parintins of the 1900s. Lindolfo was a popular genius, one of those who are born in adversity, like Luiz Gonzaga in the impoverished northeastern backlands.

Around the age of six or seven, Lindolfo would put a curuatá (a palm leaf wrapper) on his back and say he was a boizinho, imagining the stories his grandparents told him about the land they had come from.
Its symbol is the "heart", which is located on the ox's forehead. Its colors are red and white. It is also known as the "Boi do Povão", "Boi da Paixão" and "Boi da Promessa".

The name Garantido, with which Lindolfo baptized his ox, derives from the street battles that were at their peak in the 1950s and 1960s. The battles were meetings between oxen, which emerged on the island of Parintins around the 1920s and 1930s. Lindolfo used to say that when the Garantido would "headbutt" the other bull, his wood (horn) would be firm and would "guarantee" the confrontation. Mestre Lindolfo Monterverde had a powerful voice and an extreme facility for the rhyming game. Thus, he was always the winner in the duels of repentes, poetic fights that in Parintins are called "desafio".

Despite having been created to be a fisherman's game, the Garantido bull has its identity preserved, based on a promise of life. If it wasn't for the promise, maybe today the Garantido wouldn't exist. Lindolfo Monteverde was a devotee of Saint John the Baptist. When he was still young he became seriously ill. He and his family promised the June saint that if Lindolfo Monteverde's request for a cure was granted, he would have the obligation to "put the ox out on the street" every June 24th, day of Saint John the Baptist. Grace obtained, is promise fulfilled. Even though he died in 1979, every year his descendants put the Garantido ox out on the streets of Parintins. Always after the Ladainha ao Santo (sung mass), which takes place in the Baixa de São José. That night the bonfires, fireworks, young, old and children follow the bull through the streets of Parintins. The people, the toadas and the moon are the company of Lindolfo's bull as he pays the promise made more than 80 years ago.
