99 started this Thursday (3/10) installing security cameras in the cars of partner drivers in Manaus. The project is in the expansion phase and the city is the first in the Northern region to receive the technology. This is yet another initiative of the company focused on incident prevention for drivers and passengers.
In Manaus, 99 is offering promotional conditions for those who want to acquire the security cameras. For the first 150 drivers, 99 will subsidize 100% of the installation cost. In addition, for a year and a half, the driver will pay only R$ 1.99 per week for the monitoring service.
The cameras are connected to 99's Security Center, composed of a team of specialized professionals available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, who work exclusively in the treatment of possible incidents in monitored races through alerts generated by users: drivers, by pressing the button integrated in the camera; and passengers, by pressing the security button available in the app.
When alerts are generated, the camera ensures real-time access to the images and the data is kept confidential. In addition, the lenses are night vision and "fish-eye". In other words, a wider angle for comprehensive capture of what is happening in the car.
"The device will further increase the level of safety of the trips made by the app, with a focus on prevention," says Thiago Hipólito, Safety Director at 99. "The increased protection will be for both sides, passengers and drivers."
The technology operates in alignment with 99's artificial intelligence, which monitors the profile of all calls. So when there is a risky situation, users can trigger the button so the company can take appropriate action by tracking what happens in the vehicle. The material can also be used to help identify people who commit possible infractions.
How to request
The driver who is interested in the technology and wants to reinforce his own safety and that of the passengers he transports should sign up through this link and, for questions, contact 99 through the call center on 0300 3132 421 or access the page on this link.
Safety
99 is a company genuinely concerned with the safety of its passengers and drivers. This is a top priority for the application, and one of its three fundamental pillars (promoting fast, economical and safe transportation).
To ensure that the service is safe, 99 has set up a specially dedicated team of more than 130 people including ex-military personnel, data engineers, and even psychologists. The team works 24 hours a day, seven days a week, exclusively taking care of user protection.
This team will be responsible for monitoring the images and can help passengers and drivers if necessary. The cameras will be one more tool for these specialists to further improve security on the platform.
