O Janell Doyle Baptist Home performs next Tuesday (16), from 4 pm, an action in allusion to the International Children's Disarmament Daycelebrated annually on April 15. The proposal é encourage the exchange of toy weapons for books, educational kits or other toys that stimulate creativity and dialogue.
The campaign also marks the inauguration of the Móvel Unit of the Social Approach Service REAME, linked to the institution, which works to identify and assist people in street situations, child labor, social exploitation of children and adolescents, among other cases.
The exchange of toy guns will be done in the Mobile Unit, which will be parked at the entrance of Avenida Rio Negro, in the Mauazinho neighborhood. The expectation, according to the social worker of Janell Doyle, Rosiane Meneses, é meet about 300 childrenças.
"Our team is visiting the schools in the region to invite students and parents to participate in the action, as well as to raise awareness about the real dangers of using firearms and the consequences of the wide exposure of children to toys that trivialize violence," says Rosiane.
