A Amazon Federation of Sport and Olympic Luta Livre (Falle) will hold the 1st Amazon Beach Wrestling Championshipknown as 'beach wrestling', which takes place on 29/9, at 16h, in the Ponta Negra Tourist ComplexWest Zone.
The winners of the male category will have the following awards: R$ 500 for the champion, R$ 300 for the runner-up and R$ 150 for third place. In the women's competition, the first place will take home R$ 300, R$ 200 for the vice-champion, and R$ 100 for the third place.
According to one of the organizers of the event and president Falle, Waldeci Silva, the championship seeks to unite athletes from different modalities in a single competition. "This championship has the objective of relating and uniting all athletes of various modalities to practice their activities in a single competition. Besides the competition will present the first amazon champion of Beach Wrestling", he said.
One of the works developed by Falle is to popularize Beach Wrestling and make it recognized by the population. Thus, open practices are being held every Sunday, at 8 am, until the day of the championship in the Amazon, at Ponta Negra, so that there is more interaction of the population with the sport, as Waldeci Silva says.
The 1st Amazon Beache Wrestling Championship is supported by the Manaus City Hall, through the Municipal Secretariat of Youth, Sports, and Leisure (Semjel).

Beach Wrestling Rules
According to the Brazilian Wrestling Confederation (CBW), Beach Wrestling is the sand version of Olympic Wrestling. The competition takes place inside a circular area delimited in the area with a radius of 9 meters. The goal is to knock the opponent down or out of the circular area during a single three-minute round.
With the back exposed, the fall is worth two points. A fall without the back exposed, falling on the belly or sideways, is worth one point, the same score as taking the opponent out of the enclosed area. Unlike the Olympic modality, in Beach Wrestling there is no ground fighting.
