The governor of Amazonas, Wilson Lima, and the Director of Corporate Relations for Coca-Cola Brazil, Victor Bicca, announced on the morning of Friday (04/12), the anticipation of the support to the 54⁰ Parintins Folkloric Festivalwhich will take place on June 28, 29 and 30. The State Government will repass R$ 5.1 million, in three installments, to bumbás Caprichoso and Garantido. The sponsorship of Coca-Cola will be R$ 2.5 million to the associations.
"We will start making this transfer in April, understanding that the bulls have their commitments to put the bull in the Arena, such as buying material, paying staff. Now, on April 30th, there is already this commitment and the State Government will honor it. We will pay in three installments, the first now in April and until the entrance of the ox in the arena we pay off, "explained the governor.
Wilson Lima highlighted the importance of the investment in the festival. "When we talk about the Parintins Festival we are not just talking about entertainment, but about job and income generation, because there are many people who work depending on it there in Parintins. The population practically doubles and we have a circulation of money in all segments, river transport, aviation sector, food; it is tourism that wins with this. It brings a very significant return for the State of Amazonas", he emphasized.
Sponsorship
The governor highlighted Coca-Cola Brazil's support for the show. "Coca-Cola has been supporting the Parintins Folkloric Festival for a long time and today it is giving another demonstration of its appreciation for culture, showing its commitment to the people of Parintins and to the state of Amazonas, in the sense of preserving our identity," he said.
This is the 24th consecutive year that Coca-Cola Brazil invests in the Parintins Festival, one of the most important folkloric festivals in Brazil. In 2019, the sponsorship for the event reaches the figure of R$2.5 million, with 50% of the amount for each bull.
Since the beginning of the partnership, the values invested by Coca-Cola Brazil in the festival contribute mainly to the socioeconomic development of the interior of the state of Amazonas and to the appreciation of local culture.
"Giving this support to the Parintins Festival, for more than two decades, is a satisfaction for us and a way to reaffirm our commitment and identification with the national and Amazonian culture. Making this festival even better known is a commitment from Coca-Cola. We know the potential of these investments and we are sure that, once again, we will be surprised with a unique show," said the executive of Coca-Cola Brazil, Victor Bicca.
