Inaugurated on September 21st, 2004, the House of Arts aims to offer multiple cultural activities to society in order to value and create spontaneous artistic productions.

Currently the administration of the Largo de São Sebastião Cultural Center is located in the Casa das Artes. The space also hosts temporary exhibitions, and, in the month of December, it is transformed into the Santa Claus House.
