Amadeu Thiago de Mello is one of the most prominent Brazilian poets, with works translated into more than 30 countries. Born on March 31, 1926 in Barreirinha (AM), Mello was arrested during the civil-military dictatorship (1964-1985) and exiled to Chile, where he became Brazil's Cultural Attaché.
