Concerts, music and plays in the October agenda of the Amazonas Theater

In October, the stage of the Teatro Amazonas continues with the concerts of the 16th edition of the Guaraná Series, in addition to boi-bumbá shows, musicals, plays, film screenings, among other shows.

2/10 - Wednesday, at 8pm

Soundtracks of animated classics and children's cartoons gain arrangements for the guitar in the concert "Children's Time". The Amazon Guitar Orchestra (Ovam), with the participation of musicians of the Amazonas Philharmonic Experimental Orchestra, leads the event, which has free rating and entry through the donation of a toy for the campaign "Donate a toy and win smiles". Will be presented works from "The Little Mermaid", "The Lion King", "Aladdin", "Toy Story", among others.

October 3 - Thursday, 8pm

In another event of the 16th edition of the Guaraná Series, the Amazonas Philharmonic and the Amazonas Choir present the concert "Beethoven - Missa Solemnis". The program will present the piece that gives its name to the title of the program, conducted by maestro Luiz Fernando Malheiro. Participating in the concert as soloists are Dhijana Nobre, soprano; Luiza Francesconi, mezzo-soprano; Juremir Vieira, tenor, and Andrey Mira, bass. The classification is for 10 years and the entrance is also the donation of a toy for the campaign "Donate a toy and win smiles".

October 4 - Friday, at 20h

The Teatro Amazonas will host the celebration "21 years of Toada" of the composer and singer Helen Veras. The celebration will be marked by the participation of artists and groups who have been part of the musician's trajectory, such as Israel Paulain, Tony Medeiros, Zezinho Corrêa, Leonardo Castelo, Klinger Araújo, Adriano Aguiar, Arlindo Jr., Canto da Mata, Márcia Siqueira, Vanessa Alfaia, Gaspar Medeiros, Garantido Show and official items of the Boi Garantido. The entrance fee is a can of powdered milk or a package of disposable diapers.

10/5 - Saturday, 6pm and 8pm

The dance nucleus of the Claudio Santoro High School of Arts and Crafts and the Amazonas Guitar Orchestra present "The enchanted umbrella," a retelling of the show "Musicais em Fragmentos," presented by the groups in 2018. The show presents the birth of a great friendship amidst urban chaos and abandonment, while intertwining excerpts from great musicals. The show will have two sessions, at 6pm and 8pm, with free admission in a free rating.

6/10 - Sunday at 11am and 7pm

The 16th edition of the Guaraná Series presents two concerts on October 6. At 11am, the Amazonas Philharmonic and the Amazonas Choir re-present "Beethoven - Missa Solemnis", with free admission and rated for 10 years. At 7pm, the Amazonas Chamber Orchestra and the Gaponga Group will present "Claudio Santoro e Gaponga", conducted by Marcelo de Jesus, also rated for 10 years.

October 7 - Monday, 8pm

The United Kingdom of Liberty Samba School will record a DVD, on stage at Teatro Amazonas. The event aims to tell the public how the samba school emerged within the community of Morro da Liberdade through the samba-plots that range from 1986 to the most recent one, for 2020. Admission is free.

October 8 - Tuesday, 8pm

In yet another edition, the Cine Teatro Amazonas presents "Memory of Contemporary Artists," with the films "Hahneman and Adélia. The mother tells the artist" (36min), "Jacqmont. The Movement of the Amazonian Colors" (01h31min) and "Otoni Mesquita. Narratives of life and art" (34min41sec). Admission is free.

October 16 - Wednesday, 8pm

The show "Influência Amazônica" will bring together the singers Raulnei, Zezinho Corrêa. Ketlen Nascimento and Rainier de Carvalho and band for a musical encounter that will celebrate the love for the Amazon. Admission costs R$ 100 for all seats at the Theater.

10/17 - Thursday, 8pm

The Guaraná Series continues the program, this time with guests Daniel Oliveira (clarinet) and Guilherme Mannis (as conductor), to accompany the Amazonas Filarmônica to perform works by Dmitri Shostakovich, Magnus Lindberg, and Sergei Rachmaninov. Admission is free and the rating is 10 years old.

10/18 - Friday, 8pm

The Band Scandal Phonic performs a concert for the release of the album "Azo", at Teatro Amazonas. Admission is free, but the band asks that the public also donate cans of milk that will be destined to the shelter Núcleo de Assistência à Criança e à Família (Nacer).

October 19 - Saturday, at 8pm and October 20 - Sunday, at 7pm

"Mamma Bia Baré - O Musical" will bring together the famous songs of the Abba Group with a totally regional cast, with big names of the Amazonas music, besides components of the Amazonas Choir and actors of the region. The story takes place at an inn in the municipality of Presidente Figueiredo, where the wedding preparations of the innkeeper's daughter are in full swing and the daughter decides to invite her mother's last three boyfriends to find out who her father is. Tickets cost from R$30 to R$50 and can be purchased at the Bilheteria Digital website.

October 23 - Wednesday, 4pm and 7pm

The Metamorphosis Theater Company presents the classic "Alice in Wonderland" at Teatro Amazonas. Based on the work of the writer Lewis Carroll, the show tells the story of the curious girl following a white rabbit, when she suddenly falls into her burrow and is taken to a dream realm. All seats cost R$30, and the rating is free.

10/24 - Thursday, 8pm

The Amazonas Philharmonic and baritone Inácio de Nonno come together for a concert of the Guaraná Series in honor of Manaus' birthday. For the occasion will be performed the Municipal Anthem of Manaus, and the works "Prelude and Songs of Love" and "Symphony No. 10" by Claudio Santoro. The conductor will be Marcelo de Jesus and the event will have free entrance, rated for 10 years.

10/25 - Friday, 8pm

Balé Folclórico do Amazonas presents two shows. "Amazônia" was created in commemoration of the Aeronáutica's anniversary and since then the piece is part of the group's repertoire. The show represents the forest on stage, with all its peculiarities. Cenas Amazônicas", on the other hand, takes a stroll through the indigenous and caboclo traces that have remained alive for centuries in the Amazon region. The work also has a musical repertoire that values the imaginary, besides the folkloric dances that enrich the show with their stories and cultural representativeness. Admission is free.

10/26 - Saturday, 8pm

Márcia Siqueira and James Rios take the stage at the Theater for the show "Afro Brasilis". The duo will celebrate the black consciousness, with a repertoire that gathers songs by Gerônimo, Margareth Menezes, Caetano and Carlinhos Brown, Caetano Veloso, Daniela Mercury, among others. Entrance costs R$ 50 for all seats.

10/27 - Sunday, 11am and 7pm

Two events from the Guaraná Series will be held at the Teatro Amazonas on October 27. At 11am, the Amazonas Chamber Orchestra and the Experimental Ballet of the Amazonas Dance Corps present a ballet inspired by Camille Claudel's life and her passion for the art of sculpting human forms in rich detail, a technique encouraged by her master Auguste Rodin. The conductor will be Marcelo de Jesus and the event will have free admission, rated for 10 years.

At 7pm, the Amazonas Philharmonic Experimental Orchestra, conducted by Luiz Fernando Malheiro, performs works by Bedrich Smetana and Alexander Glazunov. Admission is free, rated for 10 years.

10/29 - Tuesday, 8pm

Grupo Kabanos performs the musical show "Na Estrada", in commemoration of the five years of the company's trajectory, which develops a work of authorship. The repertoire is composed of 16 songs. Admission is free.

October 30 - Wednesday, 8 pm

Singer Manoel Passos and guests present the show "Vinicius and Toquinho: 50 years of music", which pays tribute to the icons of Brazilian music. The event will feature the singers Paulinho FM, Naiá Leide, and Antonela Martins, as well as appearances by Lorenzo Fortes, Sandro Passos, Maria Eduarda, and the PMJP Children's Choir. Admission is free and the rating is free.

10/31 - Thursday, at 20h

The young French mezzo soprano Eva Zaïcik, one of the revelations of the international lyrical scene and winner of the Queen Elisabeth of Belgium Competition in 2018, joins the Amazonas Philharmonic for another concert of the Guaraná Series. Zaïck will sing "Les Nuits d'été," a cycle of songs by Hector Berlioz for voice and orchestra, conducted by Marcelo de Jesus. Admission is free and the rating is 10 years old.
