After the opera season, the Amazonas Theater releases the schedule of events for the month of June. In the programming has music, dance and theater performances, and documentary screenings. Check it out:
This Saturday (1st), at 8pm, the documentary "Rio Negro is the people".directed by João Tezza Neto and Juliana Barros, which reveals the dynamics of riverside life around Anavilhanas National Park. Free entrance and free rating.
On Sunday (2), at 7pm, Anavitória will present the lovers' tour, exclusive for 25 Brazilian cities, and that includes the greatest hits of the duo. Tickets are sold out.
On the 5th, Wednesday, at 8 pm, there will be a presentation of the show "Mataby Corpo de Dança do Amazonas. The staging suggests moments of tension and conflict, and has the proposal to be poetic, reflective and timeless, addressing the phenomenon of "detachment" of an indigenous nation. Admission is free and the indicative rating is 14 years old.
On Thursday (6), it will be the turn of the concert "Jazz, Blues, Mainstream, Cool, Bop, Fusion with the Amazonas Jazz Band, at 20h. The presentation brings together compositions from various currents in the history of Jazz, from Blues and Mainstream, to Fusion, Bop, Cool, and Latin Jazz. Free admission.
On Friday, the 7th, at 8:00 pm, the Amazonas State University Choir will present the "Concerto do meio ambiente", free of charge.with free admission. In the concert, the choir will remember songs that have marked the history of Brazilian music and that have contributed to the development of an environmental sensibility.
On Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th, at 8pm and 7pm, respectively, singers Giselle Menezes, Lívia Prado, Miriam Abad, and Nay Souza will present the show "The Beatles Bossa Club Show. Inspired by some works by maestro Roberto Meneschal, the presentation will bring together Bossa Nova and songs by The Beatles. Tickets can be purchased at the Bilheteria Digital website and at the Teatro Amazonas box office for R$ 40.
On the 11th, at 8 pm, the space will host the screening of the film "The Black Land of the Kawawith free admission. The plot is about a group of scientists who dig in the Amazon interior in search of a fertile black earth, used for agricultural purposes. As they get closer to the Kawa indigenous people's farm, they notice that the earth acquires energetic and sensorial powers. Indicative rating 16 years old.
On the 12th, also at 8 pm, tenor Miqueias William will present the concert "Miqueias William in Concertwhich will feature solos and duets with several guests, among them, Ketlen Nascimento, Gilmar Brito, and Leila Moreno. Tickets can be purchased at the Bilheteria Digital website and at the box office of the Teatro Amazonas for R$ 130 (audience and friezes), R$ 80 (1st and 2nd floors) and R$ 60 (3rd floor).
On the 13th, at 8pm, the Amazonas Philharmonic and the Vocal Group of the Artistic Bodies will present "Wojciech Kilar in Memoriam". The concert, which has free admission, honors Polish composer Wojciech Kilar (1932 - 2013). Free admission.
On the 14th and 15th, Friday and Saturday, at 8 pm, singers David Assayag and Márcia Siqueira, and the band Essence will present the show "Bumba meu Rock with a repertoire that mixes rock and toada. Tickets can be purchased at the box office of the Teatro Amazonas for R$100 (audience and friezes) and R$80 (1st, 2nd and 3rd floors).
On the 16th, at 11am, there will be another edition of the "Didactic ConcertThis time with the Amazonas Guitar Orchestra (Ovam), which will present a repertoire ranging from the Renaissance, through Baroque, Classical to the present day. On the occasion, Ovam will present, in a didactic way, how the guitar was developed. On the same day, at 7pm, the Amazonas Jazz Band will present the concert "Jazz, Blues, Mainstream, Cool, Bop, Fusion". Both events have free admission.
On the 19th, at 8 pm, the Theater will host the show "I Love Parazinho - Veveta's Dream signed by the choreographer Gandhi Tabosa from the "Gandhicats Project". Tickets can be purchased at the box office of the Teatro Amazonas for R$ 60 (audience and friezes), R$ 40 (1st and 2nd floors) and R$ 30 (3rd floor).
On the 20th, at 8 PM, the Amazonas Philharmonic, conducted by Luiz Fernando Malheiro, will present the concert "Manfredo Symphonywith compositions by Friedrich von Flotow and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Admission will be free.
On the 21st, at 8 pm, the space will host the minimalist concert of guitar, song and poetry "Time and Sound Wavesperformed by the trio of female voices Aline, Ana Dimitria and Eliandra Carvalho. The presentation, which will have free admission, will sample the main works of the conductor and composer Adelson Santos.
On the 22nd, at 8pm, the Amazonas Chamber Orchestra (OCA), conducted by Marcelo de Jesus, will present the concert "The art of the fugue".. The repertoire of the presentation will consist of works by composers Johann Sebastian Bach and Claudio Santoro. Admission will be free.
On the 23rd, at 4pm and 7pm, Interarte will present "Broadway Night. The musical is an adaptation by Roger Barbosa, and addresses issues related to making art in Brazil and the relationship with society within a new political scenario. Tickets can be purchased at the box office of the Teatro Amazonas for R$ 40 (audience and friezes), R$ 30 (1st and 2nd floors), R$ 20 (3rd floor). Indicative rating: 12 years old.
On the 25th, the Amazonas Guitar Orchestra will present the concert "Brazilian Contemporaryat 8pm. In this performance Ovam presents works by Brazilian composers who, in their majority, use the guitar to create, such as Paulo Porto Alegre, Marco Pereira, Nicanor Teixeira among others who produce works for solo guitar, but also for guitar orchestral formation. Free admission.
On the 27th, at 8pm, the Amazonas Philharmonic, conducted by Otávio Simões, will present "Francesca da Rimini - Symphony 5 by Shostacovich".. The concert repertoire will include works by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and Dmitri Shostakovich. Admission is free of charge.
Closing the program, on the 29th and 30th, at 8pm and 7pm respectively, the Teatro Amazonas will host the theater show "Contractionswith actresses Débora Falabella and Yara de Novaes. The play starts from a totally plausible situation in reality to demonstrate its most absurd side.
