The State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy launches, starting next Tuesday (22), a special program for the 350th anniversary of Manaus in several spaces administered by the folder. Special visits and events at Teatro Amazonas, presentations by the Artistic Bodies and groups from Liceu Claudio Santoro, book launches, film and documentary screenings, among others, will be part of the "350 Culture". The events will be free of charge.
"As the capital of Amazonas, Manaus breathes culture. We have put together a varied program, for the whole family, to suit all tastes, in addition to a launch of 20 books in an accessible version for people with disabilities," said the State Secretary of Culture and Creative Economy, Marcos Apolo Muniz.

Exhibitions - October 22

The exhibition "Aquarelando Manaus" opens on October 22, at the Palácio da Justiça Cultural Center (avenue Eduardo Ribeiro, 901, Center). The show is a project by Dutch artist Sebastiaan Klink and is composed of 33 works of his authorship in watercolor technique, curated by Ruth Jucá. In this series, Sebastiaan portrays the city of Manaus through its historical buildings, squares, corners, streets, houses, and architectural ornaments that highlight its beauty and tell its history. The public can visit the exhibition from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9am to 5pm, and Sunday, from 9am to 2pm.
At House of Arts (Rua José Clemente, 564, Centro), from the 22nd, from 2pm to 8pm, the public can visit the exhibition "Manaus Postal 350", which celebrates the capital with 42 postcards from the Sec/2006 Collection of photographers: Andreia Maymi, Antônio Yaccovazo, Carlos Navarro, Lula Sampaio and Otoni Mesquita. The show will be on display until December, with visits from Tuesday to Sunday. Admission is free.
At Largo Gallery (Rua Costa Azevedo, 290, Centro), also from 2pm to 8pm, the public can still enjoy the exhibition "Nipetirã - Todos", which brings together more than 120 works by indigenous artists from the Wanano, Tukano, Apurinã and Kamadeni ethnic groups. The show runs until February 2020, with visits from Tuesday to Sunday, also with free access.
Libraries - October 22nd and 24th

In celebration of Manaus' 350th anniversary, the Braille Library (Sambódromo) will launch 20 books that won accessible version (Braille and spoken). Among the authors are names like Arthur Cézar Ferreira Reis, Samuel Benchimol, Alexandre Otto, Agnello Bittencourt, Cosme Ferreira Filho, among others. The event takes place on the 22nd, at 11am.
On October 24th, the Public Library of Amazonas (Rua Barroso, 57, Centro) will be open to the public with "Bibliotour", a special guided tour that goes through the history of the patrimony, from 8am to 12pm.
Cultural Centers - October 23rd

O Cultural Center Usina Chaminé (avenue Lourenço da Silva Braga, s/n, Centro) will have a special program on October 23rd, starting at 9am, with a presentation of the Balé Folclórico do Amazonas, "Manaus Mana D'água", a revamp of the first show of the Balé Folclórico, from 2002, that tells the creation of the city of Manaus, the arrival of the northeasterners and the creation of the Teatro Amazonas, during the Belle Époque period.
The day will also include the screening of the documentary "Manaus Heart of the Amazon" at 10:30am; a workshop on Dessana Indian paintings at 2pm; storytelling about Amazonian legends at 2:30pm; and a free concert by singer Cileno at 7pm.
Also on October 23, the Palácio Rio Negro Cultural Center (Sete de Setembro Avenue, 1546, Center) offers a diverse program. From 9am to 5pm, the space will have guided tours with Belle Époque characters; at 9:30am, students from the Liceu Claudio Santoro Children's Theater course will present the play "Come Live in the Rainbow"; at 10:30am, Arina Hayane, student from the Dance course of the Amazonas State University (UEA), will perform a ballet presentation; at 11am, Kelly Vanessa, from UEA's Theater course, will recite poetry to the visitors; at 3pm, the Claudio Santoro High School's Camerata of Guitars will perform on site and, at 6pm, the musical "Friends Forever" will be presented, which tells the story of the friendship of two teenagers, one autistic and the other mute, with the support of some characters from children's stories, such as Beauty and the Beast, Little Red Riding Hood, Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, with messages against prejudice.
Museums - October 22nd to 25th

The museums managed by the Secretariat will have a diverse program in honor of the city's anniversary between October 22nd and 25th.
Between the 22nd and 25th, from 2 pm, the Cine Silvino Santos, located in the Museum of North Man (Centro Cultural Povos da Amazônia, former Bola da Suframa), will have free screenings of the films "Vivaldão- O Colosso do Norte" (10/22); "Bois-bumbás de Manaus: brinquedo de São João" (10/23); "Patrimônio Histórico" (10/24); "No Paiz das Amazonas", by Silvino Santos (10/25).
On the 22nd and 23rd, from 1pm to 3pm, the Museu da Imagem e do Som Amazonas (Misam), located at the Provincial Palace (Heliodoro Balbi Square, Center), will have a documentary screening with the theme "City, Culture and Urbanism", with the works: "E fez-se madrugada: Clube da Madrugada"; "Depoimento vivi Luiz Bacelar"; "Silvino Santos: O fim de um pioneiro", on October 22; and "Documentário Moacir de Andrade"; "Um pintor amazonense: o pintor Hahnemann Bacelar", on October 23.
On the 24th, starting at 2 pm, the auditorium of the Provincial Palace receives a lecture with professors Antônio Luca Grifoni and Charles Franklin Santos, from Fametro's Design course, about the documentaries shown. On the same day, Misam also hosts the "Manaus Belle Époque" photo exhibition, showing the Fametro students' vision of the city and its heritage, starting at 2pm.
On the 25th, from 2pm to 5pm, continuing the theme "City, Culture and Urbanism", the auditorium of the Provincial Palace will have a lecture with the president of the Architecture and Urbanism Council of Anazibas, Jean Farias; the representative of the Architecture Institute of Brazil, José Augusto Beça Jr; the archeologist Mick Jone Nogueira de Almeida; the visual artist and director of the Museum Department of the Secretariat, Turenko Beça; and the architect and urbanist Melissa Toledo.
Teatro Amazonas - October 24th to 27th

On October 24th, the Amazonas Theater will have free visits for the general public all day, from 9am to 5pm, to celebrate the anniversary of Manaus. At 4pm, the Theater Hall receives a soirée with the participation of the Vocal Group of the Artistic Bodies (GVCA), which will interact with the public using a special repertoire in honor of the capital.
At 5pm, the public can enjoy a "Theatrical Visitation", with real and fictional characters and script based on the history of the Teatro Amazonas. The action aims to create an environment in which knowledge is mixed with emotion and reinforces the community's sense of belonging in relation to the Cultural Heritage.
Also on the 24th, at 8pm, the Guaraná Series will have a special concert in honor of Manaus, with the Amazonas Philharmonic and baritone Innacio de Nonno. The repertoire will include the Manaus Municipal Anthem and works by Claudio Santoro.
On the 25th, at 2pm, and the 26th, at 10:30am, the Amazonas Theater will have two more sessions of "Theatrical Visitation" for the public that visits the patrimony.
On the 27th, the Guaraná Series has two more concerts at the Theater. In the morning, at 11am the Amazonas Chamber Orchestra and the Experimental Ballet of the Amazonas Dance Corps present a ballet inspired by the life of Camille Claudel. Conductor Marcelo de Jesus will be conducting.
At 7pm, the Amazonas Philharmonic Experimental Orchestra, conducted by Luiz Fernando Malheiro, performs works by Bedrich Smetana and Alexander Glazunov.
Admission to the events is free, with a 10-year age rating.
