A musical encounter that will bring together the singer Cilenothe bands Amazion, Canhamukaya, Johnny Jack Mixed and DJ Tubarão will mark the commemoration of the National Reggae Daycelebrated on May 11, in Manaus. The event will be held this Saturday (11/5), from 15h, at Congress Squarewith free access.
Special appearances by Deevan Vital, from Ponto Vital; Emerson Lima, from La Responsa; Habib Mokdci, from Groovibe; Vivian, from Gramophone; and Pâmela do Valle, as well as Radiola Reggae Roots, with DJs Cleusson Silva and Ras Milton, are also confirmed.
"Each band will have a guest. This is the first edition of this festival, with a great tribute from local artists on the anniversary of Bob Marley's death," explains organizer Elso Correia. "The commemorative date was instituted and sanctioned in Law 12,630, published in 2012 and signed by Dilma Rousseff. And, starting this year, the event becomes part of the official calendar of Manaus".
Program
The band Canhamukaya will open the programming, with a 100% Bob Marley repertoire and a new member, the guitarist Zé Mário. Next, it will be Cileno's turn, who will present his authorial work and classics by Bob Marley, Natiruts, Gilberto Gil, and Cidade Negra, in a show lasting one hour.
Johnny Jack Mesclado, meanwhile, which turns 20 in 2019, comes with an authorial setlist, with hits like "Quebrando a rotina" and "Mari e Juan." The group has four albums and two EPs released, and bets on the authorial sound that portrays the life, the struggle and the daily life of the streets, with lyrics that also talk about love.
