A documentary about a 79-year-old film buff who has seen more than 20 thousand films, and short films by directors Dan Leal e Antônio Carlos Jr. are part of the programming of the Cineteatro Guaranythis Saturday (08/17), 6pm, free of charge. The event is part of the Art Cine-Club of the State Secretariat of Culture (SEC).
The exhibition will start with the documentary "A Rainha dos Cinemas de Manaus", directed by Sérgio Cardoso, which presents the cinephile Maria Nazareth Pinto. At 79, the professor of Literature has watched about 20,000 films, and her trajectory is told in a narrative that shows the various stages of her life and relates her long experience as a film buff. Released in 2018, the film is 17 minutes long and rated for 12 years.
After the documentary, the short films "Hands Tied" and "Visor" by director Dan Leal will be screened. With a degree in Journalism and also in Cinema and TV, from Uninorte, he started his career as a producer and director in 2007 and already has more than 20 productions in his resume.
"Hands Tied" (2018), tells the story of Pedro, who falls in love with Carlos, his friend and who is married. Pedro's advances cause Carlos to make an unexpected decision. The film is rated for 12 years.
Already "Visor" (2019) is inspired by Japanese horror tales, which say that when a person dies with hatred, the soul returns seeking revenge. The short features three characters involved in a horror story reminiscent of films like "The Scream." The rating is for 12 years.
At the end will be shown the short film "Cuspe", by director Antônio Carlos Jr. Released in 2014, the short is a free adaptation of the work of Amazonian writer Benjamin Sanches, about the relationship of a couple in a very unusual way. The rating is also for 12 years.
