These two characters are also responsible for the narrative.

Hiran describes a fiction set in Portuguese history at a time when the inquisition, religious persecutions, and the corruption of the papacy are interrelated with the epidemics, slavery, and social conflicts of that historical period.

The dual narrative leads the reader to diverse and curious interpretations as the chapters progress from the individual point of view of a couple in separation.
