In the month of April, the spaces of the State Secretariat of Culture (SEC) have several exhibitions. Among the novelties, the exhibitions "Abraçando o Xapono", "Contos de uma Amazônia Fantástica", and "Se Este Piano Falasse" premier at the Centro Cultural Povos da Amazônia (CCPA) and at the Palacete Provincial, with free admission.
Embracing the Xapono
From Tuesday to Thursday (16 to 18/4), the exhibition "Embracing the Xapono" will contemplate 30 photographs by Nara Nascimento, which highlight the beauty of nature, around a representation of the Xapono Yanomami, the ethnic group's multifamily house, located in the external area of the Cultural Center of the Peoples of the Amazon (CCPA)from 9am to 5pm.
The purpose of the event is to "embrace" the Xapono with a 40 meter long photographic clothesline, representing the exuberant fauna and flora that make up the ecosystem around a real Xapono. After the photographs are exhibited around the Xapono, the works will be on display at the Núcleo de Fotografia e Vídeo do Amazonas (NFVA) at the CCPA, from April 22nd to June 9th.
The CCPA is open for visitation from Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 5pm.
Tales of a Fantastic Amazon
Starting Thursday (18/4), the public can visit the exhibition "Tales of a Fantastic Amazon", at the Galeria Manoel Santiago, in the Provincial Palacelocated at Heliodoro Balbi Square, Manaus downtown.
The exhibition brings together works by 17 local artists, including sculptors, illustrators, painters and musicians, who have created their versions of legends and myths known from Amazonian folklore. The works, curated by Hadna Abreu, will be on display until May 19.
The Provincial Palace is open from Tuesday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9am to 2pm.

'If this piano spoke'
On 25/4, Thursday, opening at 10am, the Museum of Image and Sound of Amazonas (Misam)located in the Provincial Palacewill host the exhibition "If this Piano Would Talk - A Tale of Celeste Ramos". Idealized by Amazonian photographer Tácio Melo, the exhibition is inspired by the life and work of the first pianist from Amazonas.
The exhibition, curated by artist and teacher Otoni Mesquita, brings together 28 photographs in partnership with photographers Selma Maia and Gisele Gomes, with the participation of actress, singer, and dancer Evelyn Félix, who represents Celeste. The project was contemplated in the 2017 Cultural Connections notice, of the Municipal Foundation of Culture, Tourism and Events (Manauscult), and is supported by SEC.
'Female Universe'
In Cultural Center Usina Chaminé, on Avenida Lourenço Braga, Center, works of artist Will Sarkis are available for viewing until the day 7 July. The exhibition "Feminine Universe" shows in several paintings women who inspired the artist. Sarkis is influenced by the painter Pablo Picasso and uses, as his main characteristic, cubist traces and vibrant colors.
Visiting hours at the Chimney Plant are Monday through Saturday, from 9am to 5pm.
Obvious Territory
Open for visitation until June, in the upper hall of the Public Library of Amazonas, on Rua Barroso, 57, Centro, the exhibition "Territory Obvious" brings together 20 photographs by Julián Aude Santacruz recording visits made to the Tatuyo and Dessana villages, in Rio Negro, between the years 2016 and 2018.
The Public Library is open Monday through Friday, from 8am to 5pm.

'Small Scales
Awarded by the National Arts Foundation (Funarte), the exhibition "Small Scales" can be seen in Manaus until Sunday, April 28th, at the Center for Visual Arts Galeria do Largoon Rua Costa Azevedo, 290, Center.
The show brings together works by ten national contemporary artists, three-dimensional and installation, which have in their reduced size the most striking feature.
The purpose of the show, curated by Ivair Reinaldim, is to explore the ludic sense, stimulate imagination and perception in front of miniature works.
The opening hours of the Galeria do Largo are Tuesday through Sunday, from 9am to 9pm.
Novamao
Until May 26th, the Palácio Rio Negro Cultural Centerlocated at Avenida Sete de Setembro, 1546, Centro, features the exhibition "Novamao", which brings together 19 works by six local artists of the new generation: Caroline Sheik, Davi Baima, Juliana Mascarin, Márcio Matias, Natusiela and Willian Sarkis.
The public can check out the exhibition Tuesday through Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and on Sundays from 9am to 2pm.

'Joy in the Skin's Full Skin'
At House of Artslocated on Rua José Clemente, 564, Centro, in the surroundings of the Largo de São Sebastião, the photo exhibition "Alegria à Flor da Pele" is still on. With photographs by Carlos Navarro, Selma Maia, Cleomir Santos and Tácio Melo, the show brings together records of the street carnivals of Manaus.
The show is open for visitation until April 26, at Casa das Artes, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 3pm to 9pm. The classification of the exhibition is 16 years old.
The Last Song
Until Wednesday (17/4), the photographic exhibition "The Last Song" will be available to the public at Museum of Image and Sound of Amazonas (Misam)located in the Provincial Palace.
The exhibition is inspired by the story of violinist Ária Ramos, who died after being hit by a stray bullet, during a Carnival ball at the Ideal Clube, in 1915.
The exhibit is available for visits during the opening hours of the Provincial Palace. Classification is free.

'Places That the Day Doesn't Let Me See'
Until June 30, the Cultural Center Usina Chaminé will host the exhibition "Places That the Day Doesn't Let Me See", composed of 12 images by Ruth Jucá.
The exhibition portrays the project of the same name, developed by João Fernandes, director of Companhia de Ideias, which consisted of illuminating abandoned historical buildings to promote artistic performances.
The exhibition is free.
'Loquacious
At Palácio da Justiça Cultural Centerlocated on Avenida Eduardo Ribeiro, 901, Centro, is still on display the women's group exhibition "Loquaz", which brings together works of 26 photographers about the daily lives of women who struggle to conquer space in various territories and spaces.
"Loquaz" is available until June 30, with visits during the space's opening hours: Tuesdays to Saturdays, from 9am to 5pm; and Sundays, from 9am to 2pm. Classification is free.
