Espatódea Trupe presents a street show on Sunday at the Largo

Adapted freely from the work of Miguel de Cervantes, the show "The Walking Knight and His Faithful Squireby Espatódea Trupe, is scheduled for next Sunday, January 19th, at Largo de São Sebastiãoin the Center, starting at 7pm. The play has free admission.

In the plot, Alonso is a young man who used to read chivalric romances. Confusing fantasy and reality, he decides to imitate the heroes and go in search of adventures with his faithful squire Sancho Panza. In the middle of the way, he ends up proclaiming himself a knight, named "Don Quixote," and travels for days to find his great love, Dulcinea, an invention inspired by an old passion.

The dramaturgy is by Emille Nóbrega and the production is by Árlisson Cruz, with performances by Cairo Vasconcelos, Davi Araújo, and Guilherme Bindá. According to the organizers, in the plot, they noticed very clear similarities that led them to Commedia Dell'arte, its techniques, body scores, and improvisation. From this, the group decided to use it as the main basis for the development of the show, from the construction of the characters' personal physical and personality characteristics to the freedom in the construction of the text's narrative.

Espatódea Trupe Produções artísticas is an extension of the experiences lived by the group from some participations in other theater groups from Amazonas, in search of an identity. The group is mostly composed of graduates in Theater (Degree and Bachelor) from the Amazonas State University (UEA), a result of artistic resistance, which even today faces difficulties in continuing to promote, discuss and produce Art, especially in the North region. Knowing the needs and demands of the job market, Espatódea resurfaces with a new look, intending to become more professional, to experiment other languages and references in Art.
