Calling attention to the appreciation of the forest and the Amazonian imaginary, the Balé Folclórico do Amazonas (BFA) presents this Friday (25/10), at 20h, a show that brings together skits about the Amazon. The presentation will be on the stage of the Amazonas Theaterstage, with free admission.
The cast will be complete, with 22 dancers on stage. At the opening, excerpts from "Amazônia", which presents the peculiarities of the forest: the fauna, the flora, the indigenous routine.
"Amazônia' has a soundtrack created by the Military Command band a few years ago, in allusion to the band's anniversary. The piece we will present is ten minutes long and represents, in a very unique way, everything that is ours, from our Amazon", comments Magda Carvalho, BFA's assistant director.
In the second moment of the show, the company will present sketches from "Amazonian Scenes", created in 2016, in commemoration of Balé Folclórico's 15th anniversary.
According to Magda Carvalho, the show is a collective creation of the company's dancers according to their perceptions of Amazonian culture and folklore.
"The dancers got together in groups and created the scenes according to what they felt, how they lived the Amazonian folklore. The show evolved and today is a meeting of choreographies from the Balé Folclórico repertoire. No performance is the same, we always include different scenes", he highlights.
In this Friday's presentation, one of the highlights will be "Igapó", by Cassiano Felipe, a former BFA member. The scene talks about the waters and has an immense fabric symbolizing the rivers of the Amazon.
