We will show, in the biggest temple of our culture, what we took to São Paulo representing our state", said the artistic director of the play, Elizeu Melo.
He positively evaluated the experience of the event in São Paulo. "It served to reaffirm that we are on the same artistic level as the big urban centers," he said. The play was one of the 14 selected to make up the program of the show promoted by Itaú Cultural. The presentation took place in São Paulo, on January 30th.
Written by student Wilas Rodrigues, the play tells the story of two children - Alice, played by Hellen Canto, and Felipe, played by Gabriel Rocardo - who fight for survival in the midst of war, leading the audience to experience the dramas of conflict, which are similar to situations that happen in various places on the planet, such as Syria and the Brazilian slums.
The cast is between 18 and 38 years old. After two months of research and editing, the play premiered in September last year and toured theaters and cultural spaces in the capital of Amazonas.
Like Melo, Wilas Rodrigues spent 13 days in São Paulo participating in exchanges and debates with members of the shows presented. For him, the event was a unique opportunity for the students of the high school laboratory. "The show and the actors now have the record of being one of the first groups in the North to participate in this call," he said.
