In this very special year for Sandy e Juniorin which they complete 30 years of music history, the brothers decided, in fact, to celebrate. In addition to producing a commemorative tour, the "Our Historytour, the artists inaugurate the exhibition "Sandy and Junior Experience" exhibition which will pass through seven cities in the country. In Manaus, the Shopping Ponta Negra was the space chosen to house, between September 4 and 13, the unprecedented show that brings the collection of the career of the duo.
The exhibition has two versions: a complete one, with 200 square meters, and a pocket one, with 75 square meters. Manaus will host the second one, which brings costumes, awards, musical instruments, fan letters and many items of affective value. The "Sandy e Junior Experience" show is free of charge and sponsored by Volkswagen through the tour's official car, TCross.
According to the Shopping Ponta Negra marketing coordinator, Priscila Furtado, only the cities where there will be Sandy and Junior's show will receive this exhibit that tells the story of the duo and also creates a dynamic interaction with the public. "We are very anxious because, no doubt, this attraction will be very successful among Amazon fans who want to take selfies and remember the trajectory of the idols," he says.
The brothers made their first artistic appearance on May 29, 1989. At that time, Sandy, who was 6 years old, and Junior, who was 5, appeared on the program Som Brasil, singing Maria Chiquinha, a song that would open the doors for the little ones to have a successful career for 18 years. Together, Sandy and Junior became a phenomenon among young people, won awards, and launched an international career until, in 2007, they decided to go their separate ways.
"When we revisited all our work to conceive this show, it was inevitable to open a 'beam of light' in our past, to literally go through boxes, files, discographies, photos, costumes, awards, fan letters," explains Junior Lima. "And so many affective memories came to the surface... That's where our idea to share a little more of our history with you came from. There are images, memories, and a bit of everything: childhood, adolescence, adulthood," adds Sandy.
