Show brings together 100 works by children and adolescents from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Haiti and Angola.
Brazil's cultural diversity through the eyes of children. This is the proposal of the exhibition "Brazilian Joy which opens next Monday (11/26), at 7pm, at the Cultural Center Usina Chaminé, located at Av. Lourenço da Silva Braga, s/n, Manaus Center. The show brings together 100 works by children and adolescents from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Haiti, and Angola. Admission is free.
Manaus closes the 2018 season of the show that has already passed through Argentina, Chile and Paraguay through the Universo Art Kids project, directed by Buana Lima and Marcos Ozán, which disseminates the art of children and adolescents through itinerant exhibitions.
The works, in painting on canvas, highlight personalities from the Brazilian popular culture, the fauna, natural beauties, and tourist spots of the country. Forty works are signed by children from Manaus, students from the AteliRê Criando e Brincando (Creative and Playing Studio), run by artist Rejane Melo. "We did a pre-curation and sent the works of our students from 4 to 14 years old to the Art Kids team, who selected some canvases to compose the exhibition", says Rejane.
Host of the project in the capital of Amazonas, Rejane says that the exhibition is a way to encourage and honor the children who participate in the project. "It is the first time that Manaus receives an international exhibition of children's art. It is an incredible opportunity to value and publicize the work we do with these talents. Normally there is no such opening for children", he comments.
"Alegria Brasileira" will be on display at the Chimney Plant until December 2, with visits from Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm; Saturdays from 1pm to 5pm; and Sundays from 9am to 1pm.
