The photographic exhibition Loquazwhich pays tribute to women and brings together the work of 26 photographers from the Northern Region, is open until June 30 for visitation at the Sala Desembargador Sá Peixoto, at the Palácio da Justiça Cultural Centerat Eduardo Ribeiro Avenue, Center. The show is composed of unpublished records that reflect the eloquence of the strength of contemporary women.
Under the curatorship of Michell Mello and realized by the Núcleo de Fotografia e Vídeo do Amazonas (NFVA), the exhibition has a sequence of images that portrays mothers, sportsmen, indigenous, religious women in search of social rights, and the sustenance of themselves and their families.
Photographer for seven years, Selma Maia has two works in 'Loquaz'. In one of them, she portrays a woman's clash with a 'chain' of policemen. "This picture of mine was taken at a political event on Avenida Eduardo Ribeiro. There was police security because of the fear of conflicts. This artist came down the avenue and I ended up making the photographic sequence of these moments, because I had in mind the contrast of the masculine and police force, with a woman, who is thinking she can face this 'wall'", he explained.
Besides Selma, the show has works by the photographers Adriana de Lima, Anne Lucy, Caroline Lins, Caroline Moraes, Chris Gouvea, Cláudia Higuchi, Dani Cruz, Dhyenefer Rodrigues, Eliude Santana, Ellen Gatto, Fê Ribeiro, Gisele Gomes, Graça Gil, Ione Moreno, Iza Santos, Kamila Aparício, Larissa Pedroso, Lilian Pires, Maria Yole, Mariana Rebouças, Paula Moraes, Ruth Jucá, Sandy Takahashi, Sara Rangel, and Simone Brandão.
Started on March 8th, International Women's Day, the exhibition is open to visitors from Tuesday to Saturday, from 9am to 5pm; and on Sundays, from 9am to 2pm.
