The Amazonas Festival of Choirs begins on Wednesday (25), at the Amazonas Theater

The 5th Amazon Festival of Choirs continues with performances until Sunday (29/9). Check out the full schedule that takes place in various parts of the city.

Gathering an intense artistic and academic program, it starts this Wednesday (9/25), at 8pm, at the Amazonas Theaterthe fifth edition of the Amazonas Choral Festival (Famcor). The event has free admission.

The festival is non-competitive, and its goal is to spread and popularize Brazilian Choral Singing. Besides the Amazonas Theater, there will also be programming at the Teatro da InstalaçãoTeatro da Instalação, Auditório da Universidade do Estado do Amazonas (UEA), Casarão de Ideias, Amazonas Shopping, Academia Amazonense de Letras, Centro Cultural Reunidos and Primeira Igreja Batista de Manaus.

"Famcor is the most important choral festival in the North. The choristers wait for this moment, the choirs prepare themselves in order to surprise with their best presentation. This year, the event has 30 choirs, one of which is an indigenous choir", says Fabiano Cardoso, artistic director of the festival.

At the opening, within the Official Exhibition, will be presented on the stage of the Amazonas Theater the Children's and Youth Choirs of the Claudio Santoro High School of Arts and Crafts, the Vocal Group of the Artistic Bodies, the Manauara Lato Sensu School Choir and the Amazonas Madrigal from UEA.

Academic program

The festival will also promote academic activities for the qualification of the artists participating in the event. On the program are the workshops "Choir Conducting", with the maestro Otávio Simões, from the Amazonas Choir; and "Choir's Sound", with Luciano Rocha.

The 5º Festival Amazonas de Corais continues with presentations until Sunday (09/29). Check the schedule.
