Manaus (AM) hosts the oldest folkloric festival of the North Region this Friday (4). O Folkloric Festival of Amazonas will bring together 88 attractions until August 16, at the Amphitheater of the Ponta Negra Beachbeach, west zone of the city.

At program are planned presentations of folkloric groups and associations of silver and bronze categories, divided into 12 categories, and cirandas of the city of Manacapuru. The opening of the festival will be made by the band Carrapicho, known nationally and internationally for the song Tic Tic Tac.

"We feel honored to be here, to be able to open, to show this show 100% CarrapichoWe feel honored to be here, to open, to show this 100% Carrapicho show, with the successes of the group, which has a trajectory from forró to boi-bumbá," said Zezinho.

For the first time, the festival will be held at the Ponta Negra. Previously, it took place at the Centro Cultural dos Povos da Amazônia, in the area known as Bola da Suframa, in the south zone of Manaus.

The audience of the Folkloric Festival of Amazonas will also count on a gastronomic fair, with more than 30 stands of sweets, snacks, typical food, such as tacacá and vatapá, at affordable prices, as well as stands with games.

Festival

Since 1956, the Festival has brought together various cultural manifestations from the capital and the interior of Amazonas to remember the values, to honor the beliefs, the legends, and the customs, under the influence and the characteristics of the Portuguese, indigenous, and northeastern cultures, besides nature and mysticism.

The Festival has become a representative event of the folklore in the state, keeping the characteristic of being eminently popular with the rescue of the June festivities, the regionalism of the quadrilhas and cirandas, the originality of the indigenous rituals, the presentation of the Bumbás and the beauty of the traditional dances and their players.
