Between June 4 and 7, the Palácio da Justiça Cultural Center will screen the best 1-minute stories, with the Exhibition Network of the "2019 Minute Festival". With free admission and two daily screenings, at 3pm and 6pm, the event will screen the outstanding productions from the years 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.
Created in 1991, the "Minute Festival" works with the selection of moving images - from amateurs and professionals - for the exercise of synthesis in works with a maximum duration of 60 seconds. The format of the event was pioneer in the world, inspiring the creation of other festivals in more than 50 countries.
The rating is free and the event is organized by the State Secretary of Culture (SEC) with the Ministry of Citizenship, through the Special Secretary of Culture.
Collection
The Festival, which currently has a collection of 35 thousand videos, has already seen productions by well-known directors and artists such as Fernando Meirelles ("City of God", "The Constant Gardner", "360"), Tata Amaral ("A Sky of Stars", "Antônia", "Hoje"), and Anna Muylaert ("What Time Will She Come Back?", "Durval Records", "Smoking is Not Allowed"), among others.
"Manaus already has a tradition of hosting editions of the 'Festival of the Minute' and now, once again, we can exhibit these productions for free to the public of the city", declares Sergio Cardoso, director of the Department of Cultural Dissemination of SEC.
At the Palácio da Justiça Cultural Center, on each day of the programming, the best productions from previous years will be screened, in the Hamilton Mourão cinema room, located on the first floor of the estate.
