The third and fourth part of the feature films of the Rambú da Amazôniathe character based on Sylvester Stallone's films, will be shown for free at Cine Teatro Guaranythis Saturday (13/4), starting at 6pm. The program will also include short films and the award-winning documentary about the life of actor Aldenir Cotiwho plays the guerrilla character. Admission is free.
Rambú, who is a hero in stories where he defends the preservation of the environment, was featured in the Fantástico TV show "Me Leva Brasil", after he appeared in the São Jorge neighborhood. The trio responsible for the script, direction and production of the films - Júlio Cesar, Junior Castro and Anderson Mendes - celebrates the screening of the films as a rescue from the memory of an unusual production in the Amazon cinema.
"It is very nice that, after ten years, we are able to show these films and remember how much they moved the Amazonian cinema in those years. The film and the documentary have sold thousands of copies, and it all started as a joke," says Júlio Cesar, screenwriter of Rambú's films.
At the beginning of the session, the short films "Ui", "Calor Pai D'égua" (Mare's Father Heat), "Rodada Dobrada" (Double Round) e "Invade to Prevent".. According to the trio, the short films are comical, but also highlight problems related to a lack of environmental awareness. "We chose to screen these short films early on as a way to 'break the ice'. Besides the comedy, the works are also related to the issue of pollution of our streams and deforestation in our region", explains Junior Castro.
Next, the documentary "The Incredible History of Coti: the Rambo of São Jorge", by Anderson Mendes.by Anderson Mendes. The work, from 2007, has won awards at the Amazonas Film Festival and in other competitions around the country. "The repercussion of this documentary, which traveled all over Brazil, is what made it possible for us to make Rambú 4. It's an essential work in the history of Amazonian cinema," says the director of the film, Anderson Mendes.
At the end of the session, the following screenings will take place "Rambú III: The Abduction of the Golden Jaraqui e "Rambú IV: The Clone. "The first two Rambú films, which were recorded on VHS, have been lost. So, these films are what we have to celebrate this folkloric character of São Jorge. It is essential that they are remembered by the population. Soon, we hope to have resources to launch the fifth film of the series and continue this saga", says the director of the feature films, Junior Castro.
