O Veterinary Hospital of UniNorte (HOVET) performs, from this Monday (19) until Friday (23), screening to identify cases of prostate cancer in pets. Those interested should come to the HOVET, at Rua Jonathas Pedrosa, 1122, Square 14 de Janeiro, armed with identification document with photo.
The service is directed to dogs and cats and will be held from 9am to 9pm. The screening is done by the students, accompanied by teachers and veterinarians from HOVET. The patients will undergo clinical exams, have their blood drawn to check their state of health, and receive a dose of vitamin complex to make them stronger.
The animals that need other exams and surgeries will be referred for care at the hospital itself. The hospital's coordinator, Lenir Porfírio, emphasizes the importance of the periodic visit to the vet. "Only the professional will be able to identify if the little animal has any problems or indicate the best ways to prevent diseases," she said.
Structure
The HOVET was inaugurated this year and is the first of its kind in Amazonas, with 24 hour operation. On site, consultations with veterinarians, laboratory and imaging tests are offered, as well as emergency and elective surgeries (cases that are not emergencies), by scheduling.
The hospital has two surgical centers, two rooms for clinical care, four support rooms, laboratory, X-ray, and ultrasound. More information about the services can be obtained by contacting: (92) 3212-5454.
