The momesque revelry gains momentum with the start of the official programming of Carnival 2017 this weekend. The Amazon Carnival agenda, promoted by the Government of Amazonas, via Secretary of Culture, starts with the children's edition of the Costume and Mask Contest, which takes the joy of children and the colorful feathers and sequins to the Teatro Amazonas, in allusion to the celebration of 120 years of the house, this Sunday, day 19, from 18h.
In "Children's" mode, the Costume and Mask Contest will have the categories Children's Luxury and Children's Originality, divided into age groups from 03 to 05 years, 06 to 08 years and 09 to 12 years.
The "Adult Costume" modality of the contest will be held on Sunday the 26th, starting at 7pm, also at Teatro Amazonas. The adult edition of the dispute has the following categories: Male Luxury, Female Luxury, Male Originality, Female Originality, Master and Flag Bearer, and Best Age. And in Mask mode, the categories Originality and Luxury.
Also featured in the official Amazon Carnival program, the samba school parades take place on days 24, Friday, and 25, Saturday, the Sambadrome. On the first day, enter the avenue access groups A, B and C, the latter being the first to parade, from 19h. Each of the groups will have 25 minutes of presentation.
Soon after is the turn of the schools in group B, which start their parades at 9:30 pm, with 30 minutes for each presentation. Group A is the last of the day, with parades starting at 0:30 am and going until 4 am. The associations that are part of the group will each have 35 minutes to display on the avenue.
The presentations of the Special Group will take place on Saturday, the 25th, starting at 8 pm, and will go on until 6:30 am, starting with the samba school Sem Compromisso, and ending with Vila da Barra. This time, each school will have one hour and 10 minutes of presentation.
Ending the official program of the Carnival of Amazonas, on 27, from 9 am, happens the counting of the parades of samba schools. The vote count will define the champion associations of access groups A, B and C, and the Special Group of Samba Schools of Manaus.
