A week immersed in the Amazon forest. This is how teachers from the public and private school network will be during the 16ªedição of the course "The Amazon rainforest and its multiple dimensions. The trainingção promoted by the National Institute for Amazon Research (Inpa/MCTIC)through the Laboratory of Psychology and Environmental Education (Lapsea) and the Laboratory of Forest Management (LMF) of Inpa.
Held within the National Institute of Science and Technology (INCT) - Amazon Timber (CNPq/Fapeam), the course will take place from October 14 to 20, in the Experimental Forest Reserve (ZF-2), located at Km 50 AM-174 (Manaus-Boa Vista-RR). Registration begins on August 29 and ends on September 28. In all, 30 vacancies will be offered, in broad competition. The course is free of charge.
With theoretical and practical classes, the course has been contributing to the continued education of teachers. This year, the main objective is to deepen scientific content and skills, linked to the dynamics of the Amazon forest ecosystem. The organization of the course aims to start the construction of a proposed Curriculum Matrix of the Forest for the teacher to work in the classroom, given the new guidelines set forth in the Common National Curriculum Base (BNCC).
In 15 years of the course, Inpa's professionals have trained more than 300 teachers. The course has also resulted in a book with the same name. The course has a workload of 80 hours and, at the end, the teachers receive a certificate.
The vacancies offered are for teachers from 6th grade up to high school in the public and private education networks (preferably from Amazonas), who work specifically in the classroom in Biology, Natural Sciences, Geography, Physics and Chemistry. The course will be taught by a faculty composed of Inpa researchers and graduate students.

Requirements for participation
To be a public or private school teacher working in the classroom, not to have participated in other editions of the course, and to be available to stay one week away from home and school.
