The striking and current phases of the artist Jair Jacqmont will be part of the exhibition "Jacqmont - Retrospective 2019", which will occupy two galleries in the Cultural Center Provincial Palacestarting this Thursday (06/6), opening at 7 pm. The show is open to the public until July 31, with free admission.
The exhibition is composed of paintings that will occupy the Manoel Santiago and Jozé Bernardo Michiles galleries, representing the artist's multiple phases. Also part of the exhibition are two installations by Jacqmont that will be located on the sides of the Palacete.
"My trajectory is very long, and to celebrate all these phases, we set up this exhibition to make this retrospective. They are phases from the Madrugada Club, after the Club, and also current. The Amazon River is present in all of them", he declares.
With a career spanning more than 50 years, Jair Jacqmont is one of the great names in Amazon art. Graduated in courses of painting (Museu da Arte Moderna-RJ), serigraphy (Parque Lage-RJ), and curatorship (Funarte-RJ), the artist has, among the highlights of his artistic career, the participation in the Clube da Madrugada, an influential group in the State's culture; the design of the altar of Pope John Paul II, in the 1980's; the project and design of the "Berlinda de N.S. de N.S. de Madrugada" (Madrugada's Club), in the 1980's. da Conceição, in the Cathedral of Manaus; besides several exhibitions throughout the country.
"All my art has the influence of the Amazon and the Amazon, as well as research about the forest. They are abstract landscapes about the clouds and the rains over the river, everything that involves this scenario. The Amazon is my inspiration, my background, my laboratory", Jacqmont highlights.

The Provincial Palace is open to visitors from Tuesday to Friday, from 9am to 5pm, and on Saturdays and Sundays, from 9am to 2pm.
