O Claudio Santoro High School of Arts and Crafts - Sambódromo Unit will hold, on April 23, internal and external audition for the Popular Repertoire Orchestra (ORP). The selection aims to fill vacancies and reserve registration for saxophone and transverse flute.
Registration is free and can be done from April 9 to 22, from 8am to noon and 1pm to 5pm, in the Events and Crafts Sector, in Block F of the Sambódromo, on Avenida Pedro Teixeira, 2565, Dom Pedro. To participate, the candidate must have notions of score reading, be at least 12 years old, and present ID or Birth Certificate. Minors under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
The audition will take place on April 23rd, from 8am to noon, in the Conducting Room, in Block C of the Sambódromo. The evaluation will consist of the presentation of a piece of free choice - popular music (the candidate must provide three copies of the score for the examining board); the competitors will be submitted to do a rhythmic solfeggio at first sight and will also be required to do harmonic major and minor scales, with up to two accidentals (Sustenido or Bemol). All candidates must have the basic instrument accessories (mouthpiece, mouthpiece, reed, and strap).
The results will be announced on April 24, and the classes will begin on April 26.
About ORP
The Popular Repertoire Orchestra seeks to train instrumentalists, combining the knowledge acquired in practical and theoretical classes, providing the opportunity to practice a diversified repertoire, in addition to encouraging the formation of a public and the dissemination of music in its various styles.
The members participate in theoretical and practical classes, in addition to rehearsals every Tuesday and Friday, from 8am to noon. They must also be available for rehearsals and performances at the Liceu units and other cultural spaces in the city.
