The seventh edition of the "Malaba Jam Festival - that pays tribute to musician Rafael Derzithe victim of leukemia in 2013 - returns to Largo de São Sebastião next Saturday (03/8). The event will have a free program starting at 4pm, with shows by the bands Casa de Caba, Cabocrioulo, Platinados, Johnny Jack Mesclado e Alaídenegãoin addition to DJs Kimo e Tubarão.
During the event food will be collected for the Raio de Sol Support Group, which benefits, with food baskets and social, psychological, and pedagogical support, people with blood diseases and social vulnerability who are being treated at the Hemoam, the Amazonas Hematology and Hemotherapy Foundation, mostly in the countryside of Amazonas.
According to producer Lane Lima, the bands' fans will play an important role in raising donations. "This is one of the highlights of the event, the participation of the public. We always think about how to increase people's engagement in exchange for a great celebration of life, for free and with great artists," she says.
The public can donate items that make up the food basket, such as rice, beans, noodles, oil, coffee, sugar, can of powdered whole milk and food supplement; in addition to disposable diapers.
Deliveries can also be made directly to Raio de Sol, in Block E of Hemoam, from 8am to noon and from 1pm to 5pm. More information can be obtained by contacting (92) 3655-0255.
