Manaus receives this Wednesday (25) the largest transatlantic liner of all time. The M/S Queen Victoria brings on board 1,997 tourists and 981 crew members, totaling 2,978 people, who will be welcomed by teams from the Amazonas State Tourism Company and the Municipal Foundation of Culture, Tourism and Events (Manauscult).
The operation to receive the M/S Queen Victoria is grandiose and is being monitored by the Integrated Command and Control Center, of the State Department of Public Safety (CICC), through several partner entities (Municipal, State and Federal), among them the Secretary of Public Safety and the Military Police. This is the second ship of the 2016/2017 Cruise Season.
For the president of Amazonastur, Oreni Braga, the reception that partner agencies perform in the season will be intensified, since this ship is bringing a significant number of tourists and the responsibility doubles. "We have never received a ship of this magnitude. All agencies are focused to do the best, because receiving well and ensure their safety means certain return, "she said.
The businessman Eury Barros, from Amazon Explorer (the company responsible for operating the ship), said that the arrival of the M/S Queen Victoria opens the doors for large ships to come to the Amazon. "We are very anxious for this operation. Manaus has never received a ship of this size and our responsibility to do a great job is great", he added.

When tourists disembark, they will receive handicrafts and bilingual guides to help them find their way around the city. The guides will be distributed by Amazonastur e Manauscultwith the support of the Tourist Assistance Centers (CATs) located at the Port of Manaus and at Avenida Eduardo Ribeiro, next to the Teatro Amazonas.
The tourists also visited the cultural symbol of the state, Teatro Amazonas, on Wednesday morning, and took a tour of the audience, main hall and museum of the theater, knowing the history of this cultural space that is the stage for operas, plays, festivals and other shows in the Amazon.
The Queen Victoria is the first ship of Cunard Line's Vista Class of Cruises and is named after Queen Victoria. The company's Vista Class also includes two other cruises: the "Queen Mary II" and the "Queen Elizabeth II". The ship departs this Thursday, 26, and the Cruise Season continues until June this year, with the arrival of 12 more ships.
