From November 22nd to 24th, Manaus will host the 5th Brazilian Meeting of Historic Tourist Cities and World Heritage. With the theme "Sustainable Tourism in Development and the Natural Heritage". The meeting, which is being held in the North region for the first time, will bring together governors of the states in the region, ministers, mayors, presidents of municipal entities, parliamentarians, and specialists in Tourism and World Heritage, and is open to the general public.
The initiative aims to value and strengthen the potential of these cities and has the objective of giving continuity to the actions for the construction of the National World Heritage Management Plan and the development of tourist historic cities. Besides, it is a space to broaden the discussions and exchange experiences for tourism management.
5th Meeting
The Meeting will be the stage for debates that will address the role of the historic cities and world heritage in the economic, social, cultural, and touristic dynamization. It will also provide continuity to the actions for the construction of the National Plan for World Heritage Management and the development of touristic historic cities.
The event's program includes panels on the importance of the production chain and management qualification for the development of sustainable tourist destinations, besides Intelligent Tourist Destinations and Natural and Cultural Heritage - Convergence and Synergy to Transform Destinations. Other important themes are the Financing and Capturing Investments for the Natural and Cultural Heritage and the meetings of the Extended Working Group of the Municipal Women's Movement (MMM).
Manaus Charter
