Expanded social impact
This year, the McDia Feliz, now in its 30th edition, is expanding its social impact and benefiting two causes of great importance in Brazil: health and education. Therefore, in addition to the institutions that fight childhood cancer supported by the Ronald McDonald Institute, the campaign will also donate funds to the Ayrton Senna Institute, a non-governmental organization that, for more than 20 years, has worked to develop the potential of new generations through all-round education, broadening their life opportunities and making them agents of transformation.
About McHappy Day
Coordinated nationally by the Ronald McDonald Institute, McDia Feliz is currently the largest mobilization in Brazil to help cure cancer in children and teenagers. The Institute has been participating in McHappy Day for 19 years. The campaign is a success thanks to the participation of institutions, employees, franchisees and suppliers, in addition to the mobilization of thousands of volunteers who encourage society to embrace the cause to benefit children and adolescents with cancer. The purpose of McHappy Day is to draw the attention of the whole society and make it aware of the greatest cause of death by disease among children and teenagers aged 0 to 19 years. This year, McDia Feliz will take place on August 25 and all the funds raised from the sale of Big Macs will be donated to participating institutions all over Brazil.
Since 1988, some R$ 230 million have been raised through the campaign and donated to support institutions fighting to cure cancer in children and teenagers. McDia Fliz aims to raise funds and support projects that contribute to increasing cure rates for childhood cancer. More information at www.mcdiafeliz.org.br.
