A play that is in season at Largo de São Sebastião during all Sundays in June, "Little Girl will have a special presentation this Wednesday (12/6), at 5:30 pm, to celebrate Valentine's Daywith free access and a raffle of gifts for couples.
The show, by Menina Menina Miúda Produções Artísticasapproaches love relationships and conquest, as well as female empowerment. It tells the story of Zé, who tries at all costs to win over the passionate and demanding Constância. Even though she loves Zé's quips, Constância doesn't give in easily to her beloved, prompting the clever flirt to look for ways to prove his love for her, promising to offer her coffee and toast.
To try to win his beloved's heart and fill his belly with coffee and toast, the insistent Zé uses his skills and a lot of lip to win his beloved's heart, sparing no imagination, big promises, unusual gifts, and even a very curious poem written exclusively for Constância.
The show also provides an interaction between characters and audience, bringing to the scene the popular culture typical of the Brazilian Northeast, such as cordel, Cavalo Marinho songs, colors that portray the beauty of the Northeastern scenery and circus techniques in the characters' performances.
The presentation, which also aims to promote the language of Street Theater, is free of charge, but, following the tradition of street demonstrations, a hat will be passed among the audience, who can choose to contribute to the show.
"Menina Menina Miúda" is directed by Cairo Vasconcelos, who also plays the role of Zé, and produced by Carol Calderaro. Actresses Mikaela Raícham and Thiana Colares are part of the cast as Constância, both with experience in musicals and adult and children's shows. Makeup and characterization are by Emille Nóbrega. The text is by director, writer, and award-winning playwright Euler Lopes, from Sergipe; and the body preparation, inspired by the combat and defense positions of kung-fu, was instructed by theater teacher and master of martial arts, Alex Lima.
The play continues with performances on Sundays, June 16th, 23rd, and 30th, always at 5pm, at Largo de São Sebastião, with free admission.
