Next Saturday (20/7), the Cineteatro Guarany exhibits, in the Amazonian Filmmakers Exhibitionfive short films that carry the signature of Plongée Productions. "Monster Fish, "Leco, "Zana - The Son of the Forest, "Noises" e "The Commitment" will be presented to the public starting at 6:30 pm.
The films were shot in the Amazon. For the director, actor, screenwriter, and cultural producer Augustto Gomes - who directs three of the five works that will be presented - the love for art is present in all the short films, which seek to convey a good message within each proposed theme. Augustto expects the show to be a moment to exchange ideas with the public and with other producers. "It's time for us to get together, to honor and experience each other's work, also inviting an audience that is not used to going to art cinema, capturing new audiences," he observes.
Augustto Gomes worked in the production of the TV Globo series "Cidade dos Homens" and "Aruanas", besides other national and international productions. On the regional scene, he has produced more than 20 cinematographic projects, including features, music videos, and short films. He directed "Peixe Monstro", "Leco", and "Zana - o Filho da Mata".
"Barulhos" is directed by Lucas Martins and "o Compromisso" is directed by Max Michel.
The Cineteatro Guarany is located in Vila Ninita, attached to the Palácio Rio Negro Cultural Centeron Sete de Setembro Avenue, 1546, Manaus downtown.
Productions that are part of the show
Leco - Abandoned by his mother as a child, the boy grows up on the streets of Manaus and becomes the leader of a small group. Together, they commit robberies in the center of the city. After the death of a woman in one of his robberies, Leco quits the group and tries to put into practice the plan of robbing a house alone to get money.
Monster Fish - Beto, a brave river dweller, and his friend Chique, decide to capture a mysterious "Monster Fish" that is terrorizing the river community. Compadre Beto wants to catch the "Monster Fish" at all costs, and his friend Chique, who is quite fearful, wants to make him give up the idea.
Zana - The Son of the Woods - In the heart of the Amazon jungle, a small Indian will have to face mysterious characters from myths and legends, in an unconventional rescue mission.
Noises - A lonely man begins to hear strange noises at night inside his house. From then on, he will try to find out who is hiding in the house along with him.
'The Commitment' - Lucas has an appointment with his girlfriend at a pizza place. During the journey to get there, a series of unforeseen events occur, culminating in a tragedy.
