Anniversary will be celebrated with various cultural activities.

With guided tour, collectors' show, lectures, seminar, conversation circle, concert and concert. This is how the anniversary of the Bernardo Ramos Numismatic MuseumMuseum, which turns 119 years old. The event will take place at the Provincial Palace (Praça Heliodoro Balbi, s/nº, Centro), this Saturday (11/30), from 9am to 9:30pm, with free admission.
Besides the guided tour through the Numismatic Museum - whose collection has more than 35 thousand pieces, including coins, medals, banknotes, decorations and stamps - the program will include an exhibition of several collectors, who will show their collections from 9am to 6pm. Among the pieces are vinyl records, cars, photographs, and even bio-jewelry. The exhibit will take place in the hallways of the Palacete.
At 9am, the lecture "Numismatics and Archaeology" will take place, with Dênio Mota, manager of the Numismatics Museum, and the archaeologist Mick Jone Nogueira. "We will talk about the relationship between the two sciences and the importance of each one of them, and also about the history of the spaces, because during the lecture we will take a tour of the Numismatics and Archeology museums," says Dênio.
Starting at 10am, at the Cel. Pedro Henrique Cordeiro Júnior, conductor Marcelo Vieira, of the Amazonas Symphonic Band, will conduct the Band Conducting Seminar, which is also part of the Funarte Pre-Bienal of Music Bands 2019, a meeting that involves sharing knowledge and information about the different realities of the five regions of the country. Among the activities of the seminar, which extends until 6 pm, there will be presentation of regional and national projects, debates and conversation rounds.
At the Museum of Image and Sound of Amazonas (Misam), at 3pm, Sérgio Corrêa and Rômulo Trindade will conduct the lecture "The Photographic View".
At 6pm, the Banda Encante takes the stage outside the Palacete with the show "Romances & Lendas", with songs that talk about the myths and beliefs of the riverside universe, and also tell love stories that happen in the feasts of saints and churches. The lyrics are inspired by bregas of the 1970s and national rock of the 1980s, performed in rhythms such as brega pop, calypso, carimbó and guitarrada.
Closing the program, at the auditorium, the Amazonas Symphonic Band will give a concert in commemoration of the 119th anniversary of the Bernardo Ramos Numismatic Museum, in which will be presented music from the Symphonic repertoire and popular songs most played around the world, besides works of contemporary composers of national and international symphonic bands.
About the museum
The Numismatic Museum was organized by the Amazonian merchant, researcher, self-taught and scientist Bernardo d'Azevedo da Silva Ramos, at the end of the XIX century. On October 6th, 1899, through Law no. 296, the purchase of the collection was authorized by the State. And, on February 20th, 1900, by Decree 402, the purchase was made effective. Finally, on November 30th, 1900, the Decree 460 created the Numismatic Section in the Official Press and its Regulation, giving legal origin to the Museum.
Currently, the collection has more than 35 thousand pieces, which are distributed in two rooms, 24 display cases, in hardwood, with beveled crystal and a technical reserve. The collection on display is organized by continents and consists of rarities of inestimable historical value, allowing a journey through time, from the Ancient, Middle, and Contemporary Ages, learning about the uses and customs of societies, politics, economics, sovereignty, and scenes from daily life in each place.
The collection includes coins, medals, banknotes, decorations, stamps, postcards, telephone cards, pictures, cash registers, adding machines, photographs, documents, and a small specialized library.
