The Christmas Musical 'Passion for Life' premieres this Thursday (18)

The showáculo will beáexhibited in the period from 18 to 21 and on April 27 (Saturday), àat 7pm, at the Living Stones Headquarters.

A Presbyterian Church of Manaus (IPManaus) opens this Thursday (18) the series of five presentationsções of the musical "Paixão pela Vida" (Passion for Life), which for 40 years é held in the period of Easter. The show will be shown from April 18 to 21 and on April 27 (Saturday), 7:00 p.m., at Living Stones Headquarterslocated on Avenida Pedro Teixeira, 2650, Chapada. To check out the musical, just bring a kilo of non-perishable food, which will be destined to needy families served by the church in the capital and interior of the state.

The music of the script is performed live, while the theater and the dance corps portray on stage scenes from the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, with simultaneous interpretation in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras).

According to the general director of the musical, Raimundo Ribeiro de Oliveira Filho, the "Passion for Life" is already part of the city's cultural calendar. "In 2019 we have more than 1,000 participants, of which 99% are volunteers and act in different áareas such as choir, orchestra, theater, choreography, counter, costume and makeup," he explains.

According to Oliveira Filho, 10 thousand people should attend the musical this year, considering the average of two thousand per night already registered in previous years.

Scenographic City

Set up outside the main auditorium, the Cidade Cenográfica is a reproduction of the city of Jerusalem in Jesus' time. In it the public will find: a marketplace, pottery, carpentry, carpentry, tapestry, bread, a typical Jewish house, and some characters dressed as caráter that interact with visitors. É a préway of what will happená during the course of the presentationção.

'Homegrown'

The majority of the songs presented in the show, the choreography and the theatrical acts are created by the members of the church itself. In the repertoire, the choir and the band go through different musical genres, such as rock, jazz, blues, MPB and classical music, during 1 hour and 30 minutes of duration.

The scenes are fiélly às biblical passages, which recount the miracles of Jesus, His diálogos with people rejected by society, the betrayalção, death, and resurrection of Christ.

But it is not only the "artists" who prepare for the event. The musical involves a large number of people who work behind the scenes, such as food, reception, parking, fire brigade, sound design, costumes, and others. "É a collective effort for the public to relive the story of Jesus and be impacted by His love," summarizes Oliveira.
