On April 13, 18 and 27 there will be the workshop "Strategies for independent publication and short story writingfor writing enthusiasts. The initiative is from the Amazonian writer Jan Santosauthor of the recently released book "The day I buried Michael Archangel and other fairy tales", which was contemplated in the call for Cultural Connections 2017, the Manaus City Hall.
Vacancies for the days 13 and 18/4 have already been filled and there are still available for the workshop on 27/4. On 4/13 and 4/27, the workshop will take place from 3pm to 7pm, at the Amazonas Public Librarylocated at Rua Barroso, 57, Centro. On 4/18, the activity will take place from 8am to 12pm, at the Rio Negro Auditorium at the Instituto de Ciências Humanas e Letras of the Universidade Federal do Amazonas (Ufam).

"The age range for the workshop is 13 and up. In the activities, we will focus both on techniques for writing short narratives and on how to publish them, since the big publishing market is too narrow, and it is up to the independent author to find alternative ways to spread his production", explained the writer.

Born in Manaus (AM), Jan Santos started writing at the age of 15. With a Master's degree in Literary Studies from the Federal University of Amazonas (Ufam), the writer had his first work published at the age of 19, and at the age of 25, became one of the winners of the Manaus Prize for Cultural Connections with the book "The day I buried Michael the Archangel and other fairy tales", this being his third published work.
