The free aerial fabric workshop is confirmed in the program this Sunday, 25/8, from 5pm to 6pm, at the City of Children ParkAleixo, South-Central zone. The activity will be taught by teacher Leonardo Scantbelruy.
The artist teaches acrobatic techniques and figures during his one-hour class. It is recommended that children wear light clothing, shorts or pants, avoiding the use of dresses and skirts for girls.
In addition to being a teacher, Leonardo is an artist and educator working in theater, dance, and circus (stilt, weaving, and trapeze). He is a member of the Mona Collective, the Movement Levante MAO, and the Crioulas do Quilombo Association, where he works as a teacher of circus weaving for children from the community of the urban quilombo of São Benedito, in the Praça 14 de Janeiro neighborhood, in the South Zone.
"The aerial weaving develops the psychomotor system of the children, working on their balance, and it is very important that, through the teacher Leonardo Scantbelruy, they identify themselves with the art, and fall in love with the activity. And the park is the ideal space to experience moments of fantasy and recreation like this," says the director of the City of Children Park, Socorro Andrade.
The City of Children Park is the children's space of Manaus Prefecture, managed by the Municipal Department of Sports, Youth and Leisure (Semjel), and has special programs for the kids, every weekend. Theatrical performances, extreme sports, and recreational-pedagogical activities are some of the main attractions of the public space.
