The Opera performs its last presentation in the Amazonas Theater Hall

Presentation open to the general public will be held this Sunday (26/5), starting at 11am, with free admission.

This Sunday (26/05), the project Opera Kids performs the last presentation open to the public in the hall of the Amazonas Theaterstarting at 11am, with free admission. The event, which is part of the 22nd Amazon Opera Festival (FAO)presents a puppet theater based on the work "The Boy and the Sorties".based on the work of composer Maurice Ravel.

Presented by the group Little Theater of the Worldthe project was created with the objective of facilitating access to opera for the public, uniting the playfulness of puppets and the erudition of opera works. In "L'enfant et les Sortilèges", by Ravel, the story is told of a boy who faces the revolt of animals and objects after being disobedient. For this, 14 characters are manipulated by the artists Fábio Retti and Fabiana Vasconcelos.

Retti has participated in the FAO since its 15th edition, producing the lighting design for the operas. The Opera Mirim arose from the experience in working with the public in Amazonas.

"It is a very open and sensitive public to opera. This project arose from the need to demystify the fact that the public can't absorb complex works. I've worked in operas in many places and it's focused on an elitist audience, and that's not it. The general public can, yes, understand these works, which makes our project also an audience builder for the festivals to come," comments the artist.

Presentations

With the shows "L'enfant et les Sortilèges", by Ravel, and also "Rossini por um fio", about the life of Gioachino Rossini, the Opera Mirim held presentations at the Casa Vhida, Hospital Joãozinho, Hospital Infantil Dr. Farjardo, in the city of Santa Isabel do Rio Negro and at the Philadelphia Indian village, in Banejamin Constant.

The performance at the Teatro Amazonas will be the last for the general public. On May 29, the artists will perform for the Jesus Me Deu community, at the Zilda Arns Full-Time Educational Center (CETI). Retti says that the project's participation in the 22nd FAO was exciting for the group.

"We are very happy with the presentations because they fulfilled their purpose. Being able to take a show with the same quality that is done in Manaus to the interior was very significant because despite the difficulty, we succeeded. I hope this is just the first step for other projects", he says.

Puppets of yarn

The Small Theater of the World is a string puppet theater company, formed by the artists Fábio Retti and Fabiana Vasconcelos Barbosa, who rescue the tradition of the mambembe theater. Uniting their expertise in animation theater to their passion for opera, it enchants and entertains the audience, while promoting an educational experience and artistic initiation, presenting the universe of classical music in a popular language.
