Works by Claudio Santoro, Arthur Honegger, Piotr Tchaikovsky and Maurice Ravel are part of the repertoire of "Introduction and Allegroconcert that will be presented by the Amazonas Chamber Orchestra (OCA) on Tuesday (08/20), at 8pm, at the Amazonas Theater. The event has free admission.
According to conductor Marcelo de Jesus, who will conduct the concert, the program begins and ends with "Introduction and Allegro", by two different composers. "We begin with a piece by Santoro and end with a homonymous piece by Ravel. During the program we will go through different periods of music with Honegger and Tchaikovsky, a program that is OCA's proposal," she says.
Also as a way to honor the Amazonian Claudio Santoro on the centenary of his death, OCA will include works by the composer until the end of the year.
"After Santoro, we will present a composer from the same period, Honegger, who demands musical maturity and a deep artistic knowledge of the orchestra and soloists. After these complex works, we come to Tchaikovsky's 'Elegy,' from the Romantic period, a music to soothe the soul of the audience," jokes the conductor.
The work by Ravel, which concludes the program, will be for harp, flute, and clarinet, explains Marcelo de Jesus. "Originally, the score included, in addition to the three soloists, a string quartet, but Ravel even allowed this modification," says the conductor. "It is a very diverse music, because the French tradition has very particular characteristics in the dynamics it demands and in the way it is performed," he points out.
The concert will have the participation of soloists from the Amazonas Philharmonic, with Arley Raiol, on flute; André Loves, clarinet; Diana Todorova, harp; and Hristo Ganev, English horn. "As always at OCA, we give opportunity and visibility to the musicians of the house," declares Marcelo de Jesus.
