Show the versatility of the guitar in a differentiated presentation. This is the proposal of the concert "20th Century: Stravinsky, Debussy, Glass" concertthat the Amazon Violin Orchestra (Ovam) opens this Thursday (4/4), at 8:00 pm, in the Amazonas Theater. The event has free admission.
For the first time, Ovam brings in its repertoire erudite works, worked in modern lines, by influential composers of the 20th century as Igor Stravinsky ("Andante", "Napolitana", "Española", "Balalaika", "March", "Wals", "Polka" and "Galop"), Claude Debussy ("Prelúdio vol.1 n.8" and "Passepied from Suite Bergamasque") and Philip Glass ("Opening").
In the concert, the orchestra, under the conductor Davi Nunes, seeks to highlight the versatility of the guitar. "We are very proud to present to the public a differentiated repertoire. The idea is to escape a little from what we are used to doing and seek new techniques that have the guitar as the main percussor," comments Nunes.
For the presentation, the conductor highlights the challenge of escaping from the traditional. "Each concert is already a great challenge, so presenting something that is a little different from our traditional approach becomes even more contagious, because it gives us the opportunity to show what the public is not used to hearing directly from a guitar orchestra," says Davi Nunes.
