Guitar Orchestra brings together classical works and Heitor Villa-Lobos in concert at Teatro Amazonas

Free event will be presented this Wednesday at 8pm.

A Amazonas Guitar Orchestra (Ovam) presents, on Wednesday (20/3), at 8 pm, the concert "Classical and Villaat the Amazonas Theater. The show joins two projects of Ovam and brings together classical repertoire of classical composers and the Brazilian Heitor Villa-Lobos. Admission is free, with free classification.

With instrumental and sung works, the concert will include, besides Villa-Lobos, works by Mozart, Giuliani, and Beethoven. According to conductor Davi Nunes, the event is still part of Ovam's retrospective of the performances presented in the 2018 season.

"I always like to emphasize how extensive the guitar repertoire is and also our orchestra's ability to go from classical to popular. As the guitar is an ancient instrument, it has gone through the baroque, classical and romantic periods, inheriting all this baggage. This show focuses on this period, and also brings together works by Villa-Lobos," he points out.

For the sung works, Ovam will have the sopranos Jéssica Paiva and Mirian Abad. "We will have a work by Giuliani that will be sung and some by the master Villa-Lobos. We hope the audience will enjoy the show," highlights conductor Davi Nunes.
