The Tucumanus celebrate 13 years of career with two special shows in Manaus

The performances will take place at the Curupira Mãe do Mato Cultural Space and the Caldeira Bar.

To celebrate 13 years of career, the Amazonian band The Tucumanus will perform two special shows in November. The first performance will be this Friday (11/1), from 10pm, at Curupira Mãe do Mato Cultural Space (Av. Sete de Setembro, 1710, Centro), where the group shares the night with Alaídenegãoand the second will take place on the 6th, at 9pm, at Caldeira Bar (Rua José Clemente, 237, Centro).

Guitar player Denilson Novo says that both occasions will have guest musicians, such as Miltinho, from Cabocrioulo; Magaiver, from Casa de Caba; Vivian, from Gramophone; Victor Xamã and the Stone Ramos band.

"We have many reasons to celebrate, the music that gave us this meeting and new work that feeds us back and makes us persist for so long. There are many achievements that expand possibilities, so let's celebrate our connection with art," says the musician currently based in Macapá. "Despite the geographical distance at the moment, I am always with the band in projects like this, which will be special because it marks the beginning of a new cycle for Os Tucumanus.

About the repertoire, vocalist Clóvis Rodrigues tells that it will be a compilation of the group's phases over 13 years, with classics like "Churrasco de Gato", "O Boto", "Até o Sol Sair", and "120 Ponta Negra", but they will also present two new songs.

"One is a xote, still without a name, but betting on our experimental regional approach of mixing all the rhythms, and the other is a samba, 'O Gigante Acordou', a satire of the current Brazilian political scenario, which, in fact, is a hangover, talks about moral hangover," explains the singer. "Everything is flowing and soon we will release other songs.

Double

A partner of Os Tucumanus in many projects, like Cauxi Eletrizado, Alaídenegão will share the stage of the Curupira Mãe do Mato Cultural Space with the hostess. For the group's vocalist, Davi Escobar, the partnership between the bands is of fundamental importance to create a stronger and more attractive scene, especially for the public.

"The first drummer in Alaídenegão was Motinha, who was also the percussionist in Tucumanus, so, since the beginning, the bands have a connection and this is important for the whole process, musically, artistically, and as a partnership in the productions," comments the singer. "We have an affinity with Tucumanus and we are happy to be together again.
